A lo largo de su carrera, el senador de Vermont, Bernie Sanders, ha explicado las desventajas inevitables de aumentar masivamente el poder del estado sobre el del individuo.

Sanders, en su momento, se identificó como un socialista radical que admiraba los logros de la Cuba de Fidel, la Nicaragua Sandinista, y la unión soviética hasta la caída del muro de Berlín.

Hoy en día Sanders se considera un socialdemócrata, y se ha convertido en un millonario.
