David Boaz: Americans Won't Tolerate a War with Syria

"It's absolutely true that there has been a trend toward opposition to foreign adventurism ... Even in Washington, it's constrained," says CATO institute Executive Director, David Boaz.

Boaz says that even if politicians in Washington aren't in favor of invading foreign countries, they are in favor of using drones, creating no-fly zones and giving arms to rebels:

"Dangerous things that led us into Vietnam that can lead you into wars," he tells Reason's Editor-in-Chief Matt Welch at Freedom Fest 2013. "They know the American people would not tolerate, 'Let's just go in and fight a war in Syria.'"

Welch and Boaz discuss foreign interventionism, the libertarian moment and the Paul family's future in politics.
