Of course we should defund the police. They are constitution violating criminals (the highest law of the land). They ban assembly, a constitutionally protected right co-equal with speech or religious conviction, and they do it at the drop of a hat with zero legislation backing it up. Through them a governor can disable any constitutional right at whim and the police will think nothing of it.
Get rid of the middle man. For too long we deferred responsibility to defend ourselves to the police and in so doing gave them power. This is fine if they use power appropriately, but given time it is a guarantee that body given power will eventually misuse it. This is why personal responsibility is the most important principle in the preservation of liberty.
Personal responsibility requires that you are prepared to shoot someone if they violate your rights rather than calling for help from people who couldn't help you even if they meant well. Cops are not a redress to most crime even on a good day. Their cost to benefit differential has gone into the negative. They are responsible for small business owners not being able to defend themselves from mass looting, fearing the unnecessary legal ramifications that police may bring to an unwarranted situation, and thus, for paying them, we end up with more lawlessness. They restrict the law abiding and so the law abiding are made helpless in all situations.
The cops are agents of the leftist nanny state. The left is just upset that the police do not facilitate their wants enough and that their own laws sometimes end up applied against their own special victim classes. The left would like to beat the cops into submission, and let them know their place, to further victimize whites and the law abiding. The left doesn't want a country without victims. They just want the right victims, and want the police to execute that process for them.
